about

"Roter Berg is the first collection of new material from Bruno Fleutelot in a decade.

Following the reissue of his first album, [ozo viv] (originally released in 2005) by Eglantine in 2013, Bruno started reflecting on what he had done since the album first came out. While there was no plan for a follow-up at the time, sketches as well as collaborations (mainly in the context of film scoring) had piled up over the years. Considering all this material, Bruno Fleutelot started reworking these ideas in ways he hadn't done for [ozo viv], infusing a more concrete sense of melody and harmony in his music, as well as a looser, more spontaneous vibe, keeping many first takes and purpusefully making more instinctive choices. While his music's main themes remained -absence, loss, disenchantment-, his exploration of these now revealed paths unexplored on his first album.
But rather than a simple counterpoint to [ozo viv], Bruno Fleutelot conceived Roter Berg as a different side of the same coin.
